Jungfrau Mountain

Ideal Starting Point

The camp-site is an ideal starting point for hikes and mountaineering in the Jungfrau Region.

One of the most popular trips is to the "Jungfraujoch". The train leaves Lauterbrunnen, travels through Wengen and up to Kleine Scheidegg and then continues up to the highest railway station in Europe.

"Top of Europe" offers fantastic views of the Aletsch-Glaciers ice-lake along with the mountain peaks of neighbouring countries. Visit the fascinating "Ice Palace" and in summer the husky dogs and ski and snowboard park.

For those who enjoy hiking it is well worth the short walk to th Monchsjoch hut which is a central point for mountaineering.

Nature

Stechelberg is where the official road ends, from here the possibilities are endless for hiking paths and trails to discover the area.

Lauterbrunnen valley is a National Park. Interested walkers can wonder at many protected horticultural species (but pleas don't pick them), it is even possible to spot animal-life if you're really quiet!.

Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau

The famous three peaks are not actually visible from the camp-site, there are, however closeby trails that lead to wonderful views of this imposing panorama.

Trips

Directly from the camp ground are many attractions within close reach.

The base station for the Schilthorn cableway is only 1 km away. It transports us up to the Schilthorn peak, the mountain also well known as "Piz Gloria", as featured in the James Bond film "On Her Majesties Secret Service".

A pleasurable and easy walk through the "valley of the waterfalls" leads us to the Trummelbach Falls. Here up to 2000 liters of water cascade through per second, and, these are the only glacier waterfalls in Europe inside a mountain and still accessible.
